A&M-Central Texas has been named a recipient of the Campus Prevention Network (CPN) Seal of Prevention. Presented by EVERFI and Parchment, the CPN Seal of Prevention is awarded to institutions of higher education that have demonstrated a commitment to digital prevention programs tied to student safety, well-being, and inclusion.

Texas A&M University-Central Texas announced the appointment of Dr. Jeff Kirk, a Lampasas County resident, as the new dean of the College of Education, according to a news release from the university. Kirk has a doctorate in educational psychology and a certificate in advanced studies in educational research from the University of Albany, a graduate degree from the University of Oklahoma in instructional psychology and technology and an undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland in Management Studies.
Texas A&M University-Central Texas in Killeen has a new diversity officer. Killeen resident Sanfrena Britt began her role as the university's chief diversity officer earlier this month. She was appointed to the role after the departure of the former diversity officer, Larry Davis.
Local colleges and universities are receiving a total of about $14 million in grants funded by the CARES acts, the massive $2 trillion coronavirus relief measure, U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, announced Tuesday.

Unbeknownst to them, Engineering Week is being celebrated across the U.S., February 16-22, observed by more than 70 engineering, education, and cultural societies and more than 50 corporations and government agencies. But for university students, celebrating takes on a somewhat different form.
